The UAEGEAN ERUA short winter school "Building ERUA Sustainable Future Learning Paths: Cross-Disciplinary Approaches to SDG 4: Quality Education" aims to indicate the alignment of ERUA Alliance’s targets with Sustainable Development Goal 4 through multiple interconnected pathways. The program emphasizes in inclusive and equitable quality education by bringing together diverse perspectives from all Partners institutions, creating an educational environment that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
By showcasing the three joint master programs—Psychology of Climate Action, International Law, and Migration Studies—the winter school promotes specialized education that addresses complex global challenges. This approach emphasizes SDG 4's focus on relevant skills development, which aims to substantially increase the number of youth and adults with relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
The interdisciplinary nature of the featured programs demonstrates how quality education must extend beyond traditional subject boundaries to equip students with the comprehensive knowledge needed to address contemporary global challenges.

This online lecture & workshop explores Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education through the lens of student agency and engagement. It highlights how students are not only beneficiaries of quality education but also key drivers of educational transformation. By examining examples from across the ERUA Alliance, the session will emphasize the importance of inclusive, equitable, and cross-disciplinary learning in shaping a sustainable and socially responsible academic environment.
Participants will reflect on how higher education, through EU Alliances such ERUA, can foster critical thinking, civic participation, and global awareness, empowering students to actively contribute to the achievement of the SDGs within and beyond their institutions. Through interactive discussion, this activity will underscore the transformative role of learners in co-creating pathways toward a more just, innovative, and sustainable educational future.
