Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The course deals with the geological component of the coastal environement, focussing on the low-lying coasts built on unconsolidated sediments, i.e. the beaches. The characteristics and physical processes involving the morphology, hydrodynamics and sedimentary dynamics of the beaches are deltailed, whereas emphasis is given on the impacts of the clmate change forced by mean sea level rise and extreme storms. 

Examination: 1. Multiple choice written exam (70%). 2. Written essay to be handed in, with deadline the day of the exam (30 %).
