In this course we learn basic principles and methods of time series analysis, using the Octave language (a free academic analogue of the Matlab language).

The course is based on hands-on exercises and takes place in the computer room. Your presence and the periodic submission of assignments are obligatory.

The assessment and grading of students is done mainly through these assignments (by 90%), and also through a final exam by eclass (by 10%).

Bibliography

There is a very large number of books on the subject of time series analysis, even in Greek. The best book in my opinion for the level and requirements of the course is Data Analysis Methods in Physical Oceanography, by Τhomson and Emery, also available at the University library.
