I would like to inform you about a change in our schedule.

The Lecture and Lab session “The Issues of Soil Sealing and Urban Sprawl on Islands” (E. Derdemezi),

Lab 1: Geospatial data for quantitative rendering and mapping of urban sprawl on islands: Imperviousness Density, Impervious Built-up,

will now take place on Thursday, from 12:00 to 15:00.

The lecture by Mr. Kizos, “Drivers, Actors and Impacts of Planning: Exploring Conceptual Frameworks of Planning Processes,” which was originally planned for Thursday, will instead take place on Wednesday.

For the lab, please bring an external hard drive or a USB stick with enough storage space. If you will use your own laptop, please make sure you have installed GRASS GIS and QGIS.

See you on Thursday.

Best regards,
Eva Derdemezi

Meetings for Assignments

Hi everyone!

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow we’ll be having our support sessions to help you with your projects. The meetings will take place on the third floor "Cultural heritage managment laboratory" (take the stairs, go right, and it’s the door at the left)

Don’t forget to bring a USB stick or your laptop, so we can transfer and open any data you’ve downloaded and might need to preprocess. It’s also important that you’re able to save any datasets I may give you.

For those who are using data from Copernicus in the projects, please make sure to submit your request as soon as possible, since the downloads can take some time. You’ll need to have those files with you tomorrow—especially the Impervious Built-up or Imperviousness Density layers, depending on your project topic. For the downloading avoid to select by NUTS and prefer to create a rectangle.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Best,
Eva

External Storage for Upcoming Labs

Dear Students,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to you regarding the upcoming labs. I would kindly ask you to bring an external hard drive or a large-capacity USB stick with you to each session.

I look forward to seeing you in class.

Best regards,
Derdemezi Evangelia
